Any Insite experts out there?

(This is not a thread about obtaining the software: I already have it, its about not being able to get it to communicate with a particular panel).

What control panel ?

Euro 162.

Works fine with a Euro 46 but I cant get it to talk with a (existing) Euro 162.

Are you using RS232 lead to connect

Yeap. And I've changed the 'UDL by' setting in the ENG menu to RS232 .......

I get as far as " RS232: Could not initialise panel" when trying to connect and cant seem to get past this ...

Have you checked com port settings are correct port for in site
If you can connect to euro 46 with same laptop and lead then must be config issue.
Is panel software within in site software version range.

I agree that hardware should be OK.... previously I've set up new panels from scratch, this is the first time I've used the "Roving Dial Customer" to connect to an existing panel that I haven't set up from scratch.

Panel is V9.1 which is in the list that Insite (10.4c) knows about.

InSite response is different if I unplug the Rs232 lead from the panel so I'm sure its a case of the panel refusing the connection, I just can't seem to spot why
