Hi
I need to fit a cat flap into a back door.
The door is original to a house built in 2002.
The door has a metal skin on the inside and outside. The bottom half of the door has 2 side by side recessed mouldings. See (hopefully) picture:

I want to fir the cat flap in the centre of the door as low down as possible. The only problem I see is that the hole for the cat flap will overlap with the corners of the 2 recessed panels.
I really want to make a neat job of this and am concerned how I go about sealing the cat flap to the door in the area of the recessed panels.

Any suggestions on how I should go about this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.....

Better to cut just one side of door into the recess, flap should fit leaving only top egde to make good with some sealant.
