Hello,

I know it’s most probably been mentioned a million times already but I am struggling to find a post that helps.

I’m looking to to properly fill in the cavity gap between the floor and my binfolding doors.

The gap is about 90cm deep
(Please see below photo)

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

General idea is a trough of dpm, then insulation and concrete. But looks like yours has got the inner cavity skin straight across the door opening so may need to knock the top of that out to make room

OP,
Why not use the search facility to see many posts ref your question?
Search for "threshold cavities".

Remove the inner leaf of bricks (two courses prob's), line the trough with DPM, fit insulation then fill with screed or concrete.

Thanks for all your replies.

What do I need to fill the gap with under the DPM, as surely it will just fall down the cavity when I put screed or concrete on top ?

I’d ram hardcore down it and compress it a bit, then a bit of sand on top to protect the dpm. Not sure how far down the cavity goes, if it was build today its meant to have a concrete fill up to around outside ground level ish
