cavity closing

When closing a cavity at say, some patio doors is is best to get the brickie to close it using brick work and a dpc?
the reason i ask this is the last year when i rebuilt my house they just used cavity closers.

ah, its all making sense now!!!
when a window or door frame goes in, is there normaly a standard size that they are resesed in to the brick work?

Closing a cavity with brick or block would not comply with current thermal regs. Thermal cavity closers are the way.

As for depth. Don't set patio doors too deep or the doors will snag against the outside edge of the brick/block when opened.
