Hi folks,

Quick question-

On older semi detatched properties, would the cavity wall on the front elevation normally have a continuous cavity into the neighboring property? ie where the party wall typically between two living rooms meets the external wall of the front or rear elevation.

Cheers,
Rich

Yes, the party wall should tie into the external skin.

So you mean the cavity does not continue between neighboring properties?

I know on new builds it wouldn't, but I'm interested in whether it typically did on older properties... say 40+ years old.

No, the cavity continues. If you want CWI the firm can block it off. My mistake I will edit it, I meant internal skin.
