Cavity tray closure needed or not?

Before the window board goes on does it need a tray fitting or not? I’ve bought some and I’m not sure if it’s good to use them or if it’ll “get in the way” of the window board and not be needed.

You have two options.

1 - Remove those bits of block, replace with block that spans across to an inch off the window and fit a horizontal DPC with 1" insulation foam attached. Such as Ruberoid Ruberclose

2 - Leave those bits of block and fit a Manthorpe Thermal Cavity Closer.
