Do i need to conduit the 2.5mm new ring main cables if i am going to insulate the wall with 50mm multipurpose 'friction fit' thermal and acoustic insulation?

I have cable clipped the 2.5mm wire to the breeze blocks...

Cheers

hi
probably not, it depends on how heavily it were to be loaded.

the old on site guide (waiting for new one) i think stated that you could run a ring as an M6 which meant basically "run it most anywhere, insulation included"
i hav not got my osg to hand but i am sure someone will be along to assist shortly :D

if it is twin and earth and the insulation completely surronds the cable, the 17th edition derates the cable by 50%

It's will eventually be for a kitchen, with a kickpanel heater, boiler, dishwasher, under cupboard heating and ext fan running off it, plus all usual kitchen stuff light kettle etc...

Shall i conduit it anyway to be safe?

How come? please explain, and does conduit solve this problem? and how?

conduit does help with this problem (heat dissipation). Note that by introducing conduit you maybe providing a bridge that is breaking the damp proofing
