Hi all

Does anybody know the rough cost of removing cavity wall insulation

We found a damp problem that been caused by it - its basically stopped sub floor ventilation - and thinking its probably best to get the damn stuff out - but no idea on cost - looks a straight forward suck out :)

Its a 1930s semi too!

Would it not be cheaper to resolve the problem caused?
Add more sub floor ventilation would be a start.

I am guessing it has abridged the air bricks and stopped the cross flow of air.

It would be simpler to take out old air bricks, put in new ones, add a couple too.

I would also check the levels of any new patios etc against the damp proof course, and no gutters or anything dripping against outer brick work. (really patios and blockwork drives should be 10-15 cm below at least, I have seen some cowboys here not bother digging out enough of the drive and then block up air bricks etc.
