Hi I'm having cavity wall insulation installed on Wednesday. Our house is an end of terrace. In the loft the gable wall has a breeze block inner leaf but in some parts of this the mortar is either not enough or missing. APS who are doing the work told me over the phone that usually a plastic bag stuffed into the gap is sufficient but the beads (the grey carbon ones) will find any bad workmanship and pour into the loft. I've considered repointing from the inside with some mortar or putting expanding foam in but it may be easier just to plug it while they do it and wait for the glue to set. Anyone had this problem before? I'll discuss it with them when they arrive anyway. Thanks

Repoint or poke wadding in but foam may pass thru and obstruct some areas preventing even spread of insulation.
