CCTV camera quality

I notice there are many options available now for budget cameras, is there anywhere on the internet that compares the quality of them - is 600TVL any good?

The more, the merrier. BUT... it all depends on what you're after. Picture quality will depend on camera position, lens, lighting, etc. A top notch camera mounted in a poor position with a crappy lens will give you worse results than a cheap camera looking at a well lit scene. I'm afraid that it's not as simple as "600 tvl is better than 450".
