Hi there
I made a really dumb mistake when fixing a crack in a ceiling 5 years ago (victorian house). In my defense I was a bit checked out due to various circumstances.
Anyway, I used ultra strong packing tape instead of plastering tape. It has actually held up fine and I put toupret interior filler on top but the surface was a bit uneven so I recently put a layer of toupret smoothing filler on top which looks great but an outline of the crack is beginning to show now, presumably from the top layer only
I could fix it by either putting some plastering tape down and toupret smoothing filler on top. That would be the simplest option.
or I could start again and somehow get the old plaster and packing tape off but that would be more time consuming and a bit annoying.
We're selling next year so I am keen to present it in good condition.
Any suggestions?
