I am going to install an extractor fan and would like to vent it through the roof(slate tiles) as the walls are stone and over a foot thick. Is it possible to do this or am I chasing my tail?Thought I could get some form of cowl vent that may make it possible :? Any links to a possible stockist would be very helpful  (sorry if I've posted in wrong section)

hi you can get a vent which is a strait swop for roof tile if you are in london the place that does them is in wandsworth hexton roofing

A foot thick is pretty normal, and many external walls are thicker than this.

I would expect to be able to put a 4 1/4" diamond corer through this within a couple of hours.

Can you vent the fan out through the soffit board?

You can get roof vent tiles if needs be, but you might be better asking about this in the roofing forum.

thanks alot for you help guys will do a little more research and maybe post in roofing :D
