Ceiling Lights Problem?

First of all... hi all

I'm starting to renovate my house (early 70's build) and have run into something I'm a little uncertain about when replacig the ceiling lights in the living room.

As expected I have three cables, two of which have red, black & ground wires coming out of them. So far, soo good

However, the third cable has only two wires, one red & one green.

Having looked at loads of diagrams I haven't seen this configuration anywhere so I don't want to progress without knowing exactly what I'm doing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

What is connected to what in your diagram (i.e. are all the reds together, all the blacks etc?) Also what wires are in the switch for the light (and is it only the one switch for the light?)

In the double switch socket box there are two red & two black wires to the switch and two ground wires to earth (as expected I think).

Answered the switch question above.

The cables are exactly as shown in my diagram. Only the two grounds are together.

I hate doubled sleeved earths! However, as has been mentioned a photo would be excellent. You've a three plate there. The red and green concerns me though

Where are the black cores and red cores terminated at the switch?
Sound like you have a double gang with permanent live (red) 'Com' and switch live (black) 'L1' at the switches. The perm live comes from a loop in at the ceiling rose, at the 'live loop' you have incoming and outgoing perm lives(the other two reds).
A switch live (black) at 'L' of light and a looped in neutral at 'N' of light.
And the CPCs are all connected to the earth terminals.
With an in/out perm live, you would also expect an in/out neutral.
