though i worry about using them with there uninsulated leads, does anyone make them with sealed insulated leads.

The Danlers Carload has insulated tails, but for the price difference, I'd just strip some insulation from some 1mm² T+E and use that.
Dunno - but it's nothing a couple of bits of sleeving won't cure!

Just leave it on - it will be more efficient than installing a PIR. Even not accounting for the breakages when you drop things because you're walking through with your hands full but need to turn cartwheels to get the PIR to realise you are there...
