We were sitting in the pub and the wife was staring at a drunken man cradling his pint as he sits alone.

I asked, "you know him?"
Wife says "he's my old boyfriend - I'm told he started drinking right after we split up 10 years ago and he hasn't been sober since."

"Crikey.." says I. Who’d have thought a chap could go on celebrating that long?!!
