Cellar/Basement tidy up to be used as a utiity room

Guys,

After some advice from the experts...

Rather then painting the cellar walls I was thinking of using plastic cladding. Plan is to PVA the walls and then nail cladding into timbers (2x1) fixed to the wall. Its quite dry in the cellar not much damp and good ventialtion. Was also planning to lay some Visqueen DPM and then lino on top.

How does this sound? What are the drawbacks of whats being planned if any?

The only tip I can give you , is to use Waterproof PVA, as normal PVA is water soluble and should not be used, where any damp is possible.
