I'm building a partition wall in our detached double garage using 89mm x 38mm stud beams.
I was planning on fitting 50mm celotex at 400mm intervals.
I have heard about having to leave an air gap and also seal it. can anyone please give me some advice on fitting the stuff correctly, I am using 12.5mm plaster board either side.

thanks
Darren

Hi,

Not by any means an expert on this, but I have been working with the pir board today (the stuff I mentioned in your other post)

I think the idea is to stop hot moist air hitting the colder area so a seal on the hot side must be made (stops condensation and therefore damp)

I have been using a combination of foil tape and expanding foam to achieve this, but if I was building it from scratch maybe a polythene sheet or the likes would be better.

Good luck

Graeme
