Cememnt advice

Im building up some bay windows with cement for new window sills where the old cement had broken away, due to new windows being installed. Im a bit of a newbie so please dont laff, but is it a simple case of cement and water or do I add sand to the mix too? Thanks

You need to add sand to the mix.

Cheers mate, can I use building sand or would it be sharp sand? Also do I add pea gravel?

Google for "mortar"

Mix it 1 part cement to 4 parts building sand

I doubt you will notice the difference, but you wont need a plasticiser anyway

You can get ready to use mortar in B & Q, just add water.

Oh ok, is it as good as mixing it yourself though?
