1 40kg bag of ballast should be more tan ample per hole

if my memory serves me thats 250 X 250 X 200 =12,500,000 per hole (or if you like 125,00 cubic cemtemetres)

12,500,000 x 4 (4 holes) = 50,000,000 cubic milimetres which equals 0.05 cubic metres

if you think about it, each hole is less than one cubic foot (remember them)

so at most the answer will be 4 cubicc feet and as there are 9 cubic feet in a cubic yard you need less than half a yard.

But do check my figures to assure yourself

thanks for the reply Breezer do you know how much readymix (weight) i will need so i know how many bags to buy.
thanks
Pete

1000mm2 = 1 cc,
1000 cc = 1 kg = 1 litre,
50,000,000 mm = 50,000 cc therefore 50kg
