After all the fun I have had these past few weeks, I am thinking of taking out boiler breakdown cover.

Can anyone recommend which is best

i.e British Gas, Npower, Powergen, DirectLine etc???

At the moment I am thinking of choosing Npower, doen not seem to be as much small print as British Gas.

Any comments anyone.

Sounds like you're on the right track: look at the exclusions! Note particularly in your case that if a system is dirty or has signs of it, that'll be their get-out, maybe even if the fan goes.

Look on it over a ten year period, cover costs £180 a year. Over ten years with inflation it will be around £2000. Unless you have a really crap system you will never spend anywhere near this on repairs.
