Can anybody tell me what measurement i should have for my open vent pipe into the f&e (central heating not hot water storage). i have hot water discharging and this pipe is very low.
Generally, the minimum is considered 450, but a bit more wouldn't hurt.
Apart from that, chances are that the problem is not lack of height, but sludge in the system, faulty pump replacement, or a design fault in the piping.
Hmmm... sounds like a design fault. The best layout I've found is
Boiler->Vent->Closely followed by Cold Fill->Motorised Valves->Rads&H/W->Returns to Boiler. If you put an air disperser on the vent you'll also have no problems with air in the system.
The fatal configuration is putting the vent after the pump
