Hi,

Sorry, probably a really noddy question - I'm really confused by the heating system in my new house - there are header tanks in the loft but also an expansion vessel adjacent to the boiler.

Can anyone point me to a diagram that might explain how the system may be configured please?

Thanks.

You say that there are "header tanks" in the loft. By this do you mean there are 2? If so, do they both contain water, or is one of them no longer in use?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes the expansion vessel is red. I will post a picture in the morning.

The boiler is a Worcester Bosch System boiler, the 18i or 21i I think.

Not sure if the tanks have water in, I'll get up in the loft tomorrow and check. There is a large and small.

Hi,

Yes both tanks in the loft are full of water and have ball valves.

The pressure vessel is located near the boiler downstairs with the hot water storage tank on the first floor.

How would I drain and refill a system configured like this please?
