Socket on ring final with an existing spur off it. Mr heating 'engineer' also spurs off it for his boiler fused spur.

That thing on the left cant be a spur, its got two cables off it, back to the ring final.

So that DSO has two spurs from it, but that FCU aint one of them.

Unless the FCU has another spur from it.

May have two spurs from the socket, unless he has done something really weird like using the socket as a junction box.

Either way there shouldn't be four cables going into a socket AFAIK.

Also some of the wires look like they may come loose, especially the black neutral wire on the top.

Has he put a notification up that there is two differnt cable colours being used? I think one needs to go by the CU - can anyone confirm?

Regards

Rubbish, was you there? Is it your job?

The other cable going to the spur is the wiring for the programer.

Vera you are looking at the flex at the top are you not as feeding the programmer??? I think Steve is meaning the two grey cables entering the spur from below. Can you post a picture of the spur with the front off then we can confirm or deny this. If you do not want our help then do not come on here and flame others trying to assist you . al other comments on the state of the wiring are perfectly valid as its not permitted to run two spurs from the same outlet on a ring .

Hang on, Vera. I said what I saw (like catchphrase). In general, an FCU with two cables and a flex on it is being supplied by the two cables, and supplies the flex! Would you not agree this is the conventional way of wiring an FCU? Perhaps I shouldn't have assumed, but this is what it looks like at first glance (which is all we have since there is only one photo of it, and we cant see the innards).

So dont go flaming people when YOU dont supply all the info. By all means correct me, but blasting "rubbish, was you there? is it your job?" is neither polite nor courteous.

By the way, if you want to quote me, theres a button for that.
