Hi. Can anyone please tell me where the central locking sensor is in a Ford Focus? It's a 1.8 Millenium Edition made in 1999, mileage approximately 81,000. I have a lot of trouble with the central locking, both via the key and the fob. The battery in the fob was changed two months ago. My mate told me that cleaning the sensor might help but I can't find it. Doesn't help that I don't know what it looks like!

I did some Google searching and then tried disconnecting and reconnecting the Siemens box, but it hasn't made any difference.

Many thanks.

I didn't do it myself. The service station did it when they did my MOT (November). But I've done it in the past and didn't know that I shouldn't touch it with bare hands. Do you think I should change it again? Do you know where the sensor is in the car and what it looks like?

there is no sensor as such, i believe the siemens box does it all.
Try changing the battery again and re programming the fob, it may work but i suspect not.
