The lights are old,a bit of wear and tear.. i just want to do a straight swap with new ones... is all i have to do is turn of electricity and swap

In theory yes but it would be an idea to replace ( or shorten ) the lead as well as very often it will have become brittle where it enters the lamp holder.

Cheers... all it has is 2 connections for the two cables, does it matter what side the cables go in????

does the copper wire go down by the screw and out the only hole and then screw down the screw on top
