Hi,

I was looking at some 21mm engineered oak flooring to lay over my quarry tiled floor. I wanted 21mm thick to help deaden the sound and not make it feel so hollow.

Since ripping up the carpets and skirting boards, I noticed a damp proof membrane sticking out around the room. The floor has obviously been relaid during the last few years including a new DPC.

SO.

I was now thinking of gluing down real wood flooring as there is a damp proof in place.

What do I need to do to prepare the floor ready for laying? The floor is nice and even.

Thanks
Jack

So 21mm wood-engineered is not real wood flooring?

You're still better off with a decent multi-layer board, if with "real wood flooring" you mean a solid wood floor.

As for fully glueing down any wooden floor, might not be possible over your quarry tiles.
