Hi all
Fitted a new light in our closet. Existing wiring just a different light fitting. Worked fine before. Now when I turn it off it trips the system.
Thought it was the fuse near the light but turns out there was never a fuse in there anyway. Wires appear to be where they were originally so at a loss. Changed back to old light fitting and still trips. Any ideas?

Looks like the red and black is live and switched live not live and neutral.

Does it only trip when you pull the cord?

Yes turn cord off and turn it back on a fuse box and light works. Pull cord and it trips again

The cable with the brown, black, and grey - where does that go to?
If you can photograph the connections of where that ends up, we should be able to give you a quick solution.

Some of the screw terminals, in what appears to be the new fitting look rounded slightly.

Have you screwed down onto insulation? Also, some of the insulation looks in poor condition.

Can you post a photo of the terminals of where they’re suppose to go?

Do you have a picture of the wiring connections at the original light fitting before it was removed ?
