hello

can someone tell me how to disconnect my normal switches and then wire in the dimmer switches as the markings are different.

Thanks in advance for the help

Com on the old switch is the sqiggle with the line through it on the new.
1WAY on the old is L1 on the new.

The green/yellow CPC/earth must be connected to the terminal next to your thumb as it is a metal face plate. It may not have been connected in your old switch (Looks like a plastic switch and back-box)

What sort/size of bulbs/lamps are you dimming? As you will have noticed, those dimmers require a minimum load of 60W to work - and, of course, the bulbs/lamps need to be of a 'dimmable' type (and, even then, not all dimmable lamps work with all dimmers).

Kind Regards, John

They are normal 50w gu10. I had a dimmer switch on before so I know that they will be okay , thanks

Fair enough. If there is just one lamp on each dimmer, 50W is obviously fractionally less than the dimmers' 'minimum' of 60W, but it very probably would work. If there is more than one (but no more than five!) 50W lamps per dimmer, there clearly would be no problem.

Kind Regards, John

Thanks for all your help, I'll let you know how I get on.
There is 3 x 50w gu10 on each light fitting so hopefully all will be good

You are not supposed to dim halogen bulbs, but that is another topic that has been discussed before.

Okay thanks all, it is working perfectly.
I didn't realise you weren't supposed to dim halogens. I will read the other topic now
