Wiring a dimmer - SOLVED

Hello all,
i hope you can help, I just want to check this is all ok as the instructions with my new dimer switch are not too clear

I am wanting to change from a normal light switch to a metalic single dimmer switch.

Just to check, would I

1 red wire into the dimmer at "L1"
1 red wire into the dimmer at "Wiggly line with arrow"
(therefore "L2" will be empty)

add a wire from the ground of the dimmer to the ground of the back plate in the wall?
