Hi there,

Have a 3G light switch with only 2 switches working and I would like to change this to a 2G while I'm changing the rest of the sockets in the house. The other switch used to operate a ceiling light which is no longer there, though the wiring still remains.

Removing the wiring isn't an option so can I just terminate the wires from this 3rd useless switch, and wire the other 2 lights to the new 2G?

If not I suppose I can just fit a new 3G and wire it up the way it is just now, but would really prefer a 2G if possible.

Any help appreciated...

You could just terminate the wires in connectors or crimps behind the switch. You will need to be aware of any links that were fitted to provide Lines to the commons if applicable.
