Changing Flat roof a Pitch

Hi

I have a flat roof currently on a small rear extention which now needs replacing.

We are thinking to go with a pitched tiled roof because there's plenty height available for it.

Question is should leave the existing felt and ply board on there and will this this be ok or should we rip it off?

If it causes no issues leaving it on in don't mind leaving it there and only strip back where I need to.

Please share your thoughts, would be much appreciated.

If there's plenty of height, get rid of the old roof and have a nice spacious vaulted ceiling. Maybe even two roof windows.
