I understand that I need to turn off the main cold feed, but what about my Combi boiler.? Does that need to be drained before removing the taps, or is there another valve I have to turn off.?
Any advice before I visit the accident unit would be appreciated. Thx.!

Turning off the cold supply will allow you to complete your tap installation - the central heating won't be affected and no need to drain anything down.
Put a pair of isolating valves on the taps supply - then you can work at your leisure with the rest of the house having water as normal.
