I have just taken down a light in our living room ready for plastering and there are 3 red wires all together in a connector block, so I put these in a wago.

Then there is 2 black wires that were in one light terminal and 1 black wire in the other light terminal.

When I put the new light up does it matter which way the black wires go? I will for sure keep the 2 that are together now together in the new light, but do they have to go to positive or negative terminal, or doesn’t it matter?

almost certainly
one of the black on its own - is live (often has red sleeving or marked in some was as live - switched live back from the switch - and the other 2 blacks are neutral

if you have a screw fix light - then its normal to have the LIVE in the centre connection - so if you do touch the inner screw then its NOT live

What do you mean by postive , usually marked L or N Live Neutral ????
unless its a DC light - is it ??? using a transformer , LED lights (but not 240v - maybe 12V DC )
If DC Led - then will not necessarily work with the connections you describe

photos would help , in case you are fitting something other than a 240V "mains" light

Sorry about positive/negative. I mean L and N.
