Changing power shower to heater?

Hi everyone,

I have a power shower supply on a 40a breaker that is no longer used. (Power shower has been removed.).

My question is, could I just put a 13a fused spur in where the current power switch is to run a bathroom heater from instead? Would I need to change the breaker too?

Yes, you can do that.
No need to change the breaker, as the 13A fuse will be protecting things down stream.

Cue someone to ask if RCD protection exists

You could but it would be entirely pointless - the RCD should already be in the consumer unit.

Cables (which is what a "spur" is) don't usually have 'poles".

If you're talking about an FCU, I don't think I've seen one with a single-pole switch for decades, if ever - but maybe,with all your experience, you have?
