Changing thermostat to Hive system

I’ve decided to try a Hive thermostat due to getting frustrated with how basic my old one was. Could anyone advise on connecting this using the same wires as the previous receiver. I don’t really want to mess around with the inside of the boiler.

I found another thread on here which puts grey into 1 and black into 4.

Assuming you have a single channel Hive - not quite, grey into 1 and black into 3!

It’s just one Hive mini and nothing else like the radiator valves etc.

The difference is small, but important!

Does your receiver have one button on the front, or two?

Definitely single channel. It says on the inside of the receiver.

Just wanted to say thanks for the help. Only got round to it today as I didn’t want to mess around with things while we had a cold snap. The Hive thermostat definitely seems to think it’s a degree warmer than it actually is. The decision now is whether I tell the missus that
