I would like to replace my 3 existing 240v lights in the kitchen with 6 ELV
spots. This would include also fitting the appropriate transformers, junction boxes and 3amp fuse protection.

This will be a DIY project. Not wishing to fall foul of the 'Part P' regs, should this be a problem?

Although the regs define a kitchen as a special area and is notifiable, the main lighting wiring is already there existing in the void above the plasterboard ceiling (technically not in the kitchen?)

Looking foward to your comments

If you have any concern regarding the building regulations you should speak to your local Building Control Officer who will offer free advice.
