Hi all,
I've chased an alarm cable for the remote keypada while ago, and never got round to covering the cable point up again until now.

See the pic below for how it looks.

Would I be able to just fill it with skim, or would i need to put some render/cement in there first?

Thanks

I would chip the plaster off the edges of the chase then paint some pva over it then mix a bit of bonding with a bit of cement and fill the gap, then scrape it out about 5mm and put some scrim tape over it so it covers where you chased it out and let it go off and skim it and sponge around the chase and get excess skim off and let it firm up and bring it to a finish then tidy up again with the sponge..

You should have cut a little tiny groove and used polyfilla. No need for all that other stuff.

The reason to use scrim is so you go over the edges of the chase and it doesn't crack, you all have your ways of doin' it, that's mine!!
