Chasing pipes into plaster

I'm thinking about installing a mixer shower in my bathroom, and so need to sink the hot/cold pipes into the wall.

My question is, will i need to plaster over the pipes before tiling, or will a good helping of tile adhesive followed by the tile do the trick?

best mix up sum browning befor you put tiles on,what about running 2 pipes on the out side off the tilesand into your mixer tap in chrome,save a load ov work and look smart

Thats what I opted for after I didn`t sink the pipes in deep enough (them damned copper elbows ) and have to agree it looks smart enough
