Anyone got a recommendation & supplier for a cheap Band A LPG combi..............

Well there's probably some cheap stuff in B&Q. It'll be rubbish and may break down a lot, but it'll be cheap. If you want good/reliable, on the other hand, you'll have to put your hand a little deeper into your pocket. What sort of budget are you working on?

B&Q don't sell LPG combi boilers mate, thanks anyway.

Sorry mate , so it is.
Good boiler though all the same.
Dont Potterton do an A band one now?

Not sure fella, there's a very limited number of 'value' LPG combis out there, most are £700+!!.........It's just for an auld dear with not a lot of dosh and I don't want to stick in a Band B, then have the Greenwash Polis on my tail.

im afraid your asking an impossible question. somthing under £700 in lpg and value. even in nat gas that would be hard. only boiler i can think of is a ferolli optimax that comes lpg and best of a bad bunch of band A boilers under £700. only other i would consider would be a main he or baxi 105 he with lpg kit, near enough same boiler but band B good luck.

Thanks mate, I didn't know the Optimax could be converted, good call!!
We've fitted a few & to be fair they've been OK. But we ensure our systems are very clean & the boilers commissioned correctly.
Thanks again.

I find that others can recommend their favourite boilers on here, but if I do, I get castigated for my troubles! These are the best boilers I know of:

But the difference is that others select their favourites from all the manufacturers based on their own installation/maintenance experiences.

You only recommend Viessmann boilers!

The Biasi range can be converted to LPG.

The Riva Advance M110 is about £550 and the Riva Plus about £440.

The latter is a conventional boiler with recouperator with finned tubes to increase the efficienty to 90%. I think its called the M196.

Stay clear of the ActiveA for the moment. Its not out long enough to have an idea of the reliability and the HE is ali!

didnt know that about the betacom. how is it then a flexicom can't be used with lpg but the rest of the range can?

flexicom is a totally different heat engine, ally hex, flat downfiring burner and so on.
All vaillants, glowworm ultracom2 and betacom have pretty much same heat engine.
