Hey guys,

Bare with me I'm a newb to these DIY forums.

I have a chest of drawers as seen in exhibit A, they have previously had stickers on, daft move I know. Anyway straight to the point, upon removal of these stickers it has left obvious marks  is there anyway I can repair this or neaten it up cost effectively?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Kieran :D

heeelllooo and welcome Kierangroome :D :D :D
your furniture looks like typical photo finish furniture
as in a reconstituted board from pressed or reconstituted wood fibres covered with a paper print off a wood pattern covered with a plastic coating
so your white patches may residue from the stuck on labels or from the wood print
you can remove the label residue but iff you have reached the paper decorative layer its knackered

Hey guys,

Bare with me
Thanks,

Must we? I'd rather keep my clothes on, if you don't mind :D

Re the sticker damage, in a word, no.

That's the problem with plastic-veneered MDF furniture (as opposed to wood or wood veneered) - once it's gone, it's gone. You could go to a lot of time and trouble painting/varnishing it and it still wouldn't look good.

Is it a stand alone piece, of does it match a load of other stuff?

Hi Big-All and emilybronte,

Thank you guys ever so much for your quick responses, you guys are the best!

God damn plastic MDF sigh,

It's clear to me now that I know I need to find a replacement drawer or get some new furniture :(

But oh well! thanks again you guys!

This will be great for the time being to cover up those messy marks, how did I not know this existed?

Well I can't complain, thanks big-all for suggesting this to me, time to check out eBay and see what wood patterned adhesive they hone,

Thank you

When using sticky backed plastic (famous for Blue Peter projects) or Fablon, try not to stretch it when fitting as it will shrink back from the edges after a time if you do. :D

other ideas cut out silver stars/moons/suns/planets
red buterflyes/birds/elephant
just whatever takes your fancy and place randomly
can brighten a kids room no end
