I have posted here extensively about a problem I had with a sticking brake caliper. My local garage replaced the flexible hose to that wheel and the problem seems to be fixed. But during the process he enquired about a replacement caliper (Aveo auto 2012) as he thought mine needed to be changed.
He was told by his parts supplier that they had actually contacted Chevrolet and the part was on 'back order' and they weren't sure if/when one would come available. (This is what I was told at KwikFit when I first took it there). Can it be possible in this day and age that a car that was bought new in 2012 cannot be repaired because of the lack of spares from the manufacturer?
My local chap found a GM OE part number on the caliper and traced it through that. He put the old caliper back and it feels fine now so my question is ....do I tell We Buy Any Car that there is a fault? Morally I think I should mention it although it has 'probably' been fixed by the new hose.
