We live in a ground floor flat in a victorian terrace in london. we have three large chimney breasts and want to remove the one from the kitchen. we're happy to pay for the whole removal as would be cheaper then supporting hers upstairs and the stack. Has anyone done this with a nieghbour? how easy is it to patch up eg floors, ceilings, roof etc after removal and any ideas, even roughly, of cost?

Thanks Becky

Jeepers! Quite an undertaking!

The thing you need to be wary of is the quality of workmanship and the potential for come-backs.

This sort of job could easily go wrong even without you doing a lot wrong.

With an affable neighbour, who is also keen to remove the whole stack, costs would be in excess of £3000.

3G being at the low end.
