chimney breast damp

I have a chimney in the lounge which has a gas fire in there. The flue is not lined.

The paint on this breast is peeling off and so it must be damp somewhere. I think this is caused by the condensation forming in the flue.

How do i cure this problem. There are no vents i think into this breast. I will need to check that, but i dont think there are any.

If you use the fire then that will deal with any condensation

You may have either penetrating moisture, or the tar may be leeching through from the flue
