Did a job the other day on a interlocking tiled roof (Russell Grampion) where the flashing were shocking. I'm used to working on new roofs where ther would normally be a secret gutter and soakers over the tops of the tiles. These Roofs (Council Houses) were just step flasings and a lead sheet under the tiles and it came out at the apron, obviously this is bound to leak! my question is...If there is no secret gutter what is the correct way to flash the sides. I made soakers over the tops of the tiles! couldn't think what else to do
