I am planning to fit an open flame type gas fire in my house. The chimney is of sandstone construction. I am getting it swept and tested, but before I get this done I was looking for some information..
What size of liner should I get if it needs one? If the fire has an insert does it connect directly to the liner or just vent into the space behind it and then the fumes go up the liner?
I think this is the fire I will get, does this look like a good price.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

This really is a question for the gas/heating forum.

The fire manufacturer should specify a flue size though
