I want to have fitted a gas fire but at the moment I have a bonnet type insert in the chimney pot. I was going to have a DFE inset fitted but I 've been told I can only have this if the fire is class 1 because the internal diameter of the insert is 5". Does this matter as the insert is right ontop of the pot?

any cowl fitted to the chimney terminal, where a gas appliance is in use, needs to comply with the gas appliance. this is rather important.
