Chimney removal

I've just had work carries put for a new roof which included removing one chimney.
There is no fireplace as the previous owners had boarded over the opening and had an electric fire. There is a small vent grille on the first floor breast wall.

The roofer I had said he would knock the chimney down below roof level and tile over as it wasn't in use. Now that the roofer is done I have looked in the loft space and can see the top of the remaining stack which appears to be left open.

Is this normal and ok, or should it be closed off somehow?

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

my view is to leave it open. or you can cover it with a vented board if you want to?

the SS liner should have been removed - its still possible to remove it in sections.

all blocked fireplace openings should be vented but first all flues should be swept which might require opening up the blocked fire places?.
