On the Panorama programme last night they tested the stuff being imported from China to beat the tax and it has toxins in it. One of which is Lead which is 30 times more than in legal tobacco.
If somebody smoked 20 a day they would be getting 600 times more Lead than usual.

I saw the programme, and was amazed that people buying these fakes ask for them by name, eg. Marlboro or Superkings.

Sounds like its the same $hite tobacco in all of them. The only thing Marlboro or Superking about them is the name on the packet. Surely if you smoke a regular brand it's because you prefer the taste of that particular brand. Can't they tell the difference?

Actually, they'd (only) get 30 times more lead than usual. Still, people who buy this stuff are unlikely to be watching Panorama anyway.

I spoke to a chap that has smoked the Chinese tobacco and he said it was awful and tasted nothing like the usual stuff.
