Had a couple of a**e slappings lately. Go to a breakdown leak what have you, repair made and customer says they havent any cash in the house  , OK I'll take a check most fine odd ones bounce, now take the card number and write this on check. Now Ive had one of these bounced.
Iam now looking into one of these mobile chip'n'pin things which take the money like the shops and so on, do any of you chaps use one, are they any good, can you get a signal anywhere, pro's and con's and so on.
Any info or experiance.

Thanks all
Craig.

they work off a phone line so there must be a kit that could link it to a mobile phone or you can get a device that has one built in?

In addition to traditional counter-based terminals, we also have options for processing card payments when you don't want to be tied to the till:

*Our portable option enables you to take payment from your customers without them having to come to the till - ideal for restaurants and bars.

*Our mobile option uses Vodafone mobile phone technology to allow your staff to take payments on the move, wherever they are. Perfect for taxi drivers, delivery staff and stall traders.

Also . . .

Saw a programme on telly, where a hooker was taking payment for 'stuff' with a cordless chip and pin machine

If you get one of these with a mobile payment thingy then Iam having one wether it works or not.

Looks like a nice a aa aaa a anthrasite silver car........

You could get one and then nip into pizza hut. When you see someone look like they're ready to pay by card just trot up and give it the old "how was everything with the meal - check the amount, press enter. Type in your pin and press enter"... Shame it can be traced to your account. Pretty short shelf life on that scam too...

i actually thought about that method (taking a portable chip and pin) to any restaurant and making myself rich "Thank you very much" but like your train of thought it would get traced to an account or i would be picked up on cctv by big brother ineviatably leading the bobbies to my home address, Mmmm. Keep on scheming!
