Got the builders in who are replacing the water damaged wooden flooring in the kitchen/bathroom with water resistant chipborad. I've been told by family and friends to avoid this and use wooden flooring. What should I use? Anyone had any bad experiences with chipboard?

I've got the water resistant chipboard on all floors and it's definitely ok in bathroom and kitchen. It doesn't absorb water and swell up like the ordinary stuff.

Thanks shaggy, but what do you have on top of the chipboard as I'm thinking about either laminated flooring or lino

Yep as shaggy says is ideal for bathroom/kitchen as the moisture resistant chipboard is in slightly green colour or have a Graded 5 stamp on the board somewhere.

The laminated flooring for the bathroom are not recommended but some of them are suitable for kitchen, have a look at the details instruction on the pack.

Some laminated flooring are available for bathroom though but check with the manufacter first.

Lino will give you trouble free maintenance.
